This course provides an introduction to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) (2016). Childcare practitioners will gain a greater understanding of the framework. Through activities and resources you will develop your knowledge and skills to help support the work you do in practice.
The aim of this course is to introduce the EYFS to new practitioners working in early years settings with children aged 0-5 years old.

By the end of this course learners will:
- Have a greater understanding of the EYFS safeguarding and welfare requirements (2016 version)
- Understand the EYFS learning and development requirements
- Have a greater awareness of Early Years Outcomes/ Development Matters statements
- Be aware of the Ofsted inspection framework and the implications on the setting.
