National Day Nurseries Association (NDNA) is encouraging schools to work with their local childcare providers to develop wraparound care for their pupils.

In her speech to the Conservative Party Conference yesterday, Education Minister Nicky Morgan announced that schools must take “reasonable steps” to make sure before and after school care and even holiday care is provided to help working parents.

NDNA’s latest Annual Nursery Survey showed that 43% of nurseries already work in partnership with schools, mostly to provide the wraparound care that parents need at the beginning and end of the school day to enable them to work regular office hours.

This happens both within the school setting and also away from the school in the provider’s own setting.
