Nursery staff could be disqualified from working in childcare due to the people they are sharing a household with warns a leading childcare charity. National Day Nurseries Association is calling on the Department for Education to set out clearly in the EYFS, the rules around childcare workers living with someone who is disqualified.

Purnima Tanuku OBE, Chief Executive of National Day Nurseries Association said:

"We have seen an increase in the number of members contacting us about this particular issue. The rules around disqualification are not clear in the EYFS and that must be put right. NDNA has produced an easy to read factsheet on disqualification and, as we feel this is a crucial issue for the sector it is available on our website for everyone to access."

NDNA’s Staff Suitability and Disqualification Factsheet gives the information on disqualification, includes links to the appropriate legislation and guidance on employment law compliance.
