Leading early years organisation, National Day Nurseries Association (NDNA) has welcomed the childcare announcements made today by the Government but has urged it to go further and make sure children get the most out of its investment by overhauling the unwieldy and complex childcare funding system.
In its package of childcare measures the Government has announced an increase in the amount of money spent on childcare, parents can get tax relief worth up to a maximum £2,000 per child, extending this to children up to 12, increases to support under universal credit and an early years pupil premium with more funding to support disadvantaged children's early education.
