The survey issued today by The Family and Childcare Trust reinforces the findings of National Day Nurseries Association report into the nursery sector.
Both acknowledge how the current economic climate makes it a struggle for parents who are trying to juggle work and childcare on already squeezed family budgets.
Chief Executive of National Day Nurseries Association, Purnima Tanuku OBE said:
"The figures for England in the Family and Childcare Trust report shows an increase of 2.2% on nursery hours for under 2s and 0% on nursery hours for children over five."
