National Day Nurseries Association’s Chief Executive, Purnima Tanuku OBE, said: “The stakes are high on 30 hours childcare and with parents keen to benefit, the policy will stand or fall on the achievement of a viable funding package for providers. It is vital that the funding settlement in November's Spending Review is a step change, with a meaningful uplift.

NDNA submitted its own evidence to the funding review, including its comprehensive Workforce Survey which has been quoted in the Policy Statement.

First pilots of the 30 free hours’ provision are set to take place in 2016 with full roll-out across England in 2017.
